I don't have much difficulty hearing the announcers and promo people. What I do have trouble hearing is Les' interviews. It's just not loud enough I find. Well I can hear Les just fine as he has a clear and booming voice that has been developed for radio over the years ... Flynn is a "low talker" and you can't hear what he is saying at all ... and he comes across as lacking confidence in what he is saying in those interviews for that very reason. The players are the same way .... they don't project their voice when talking to Les and you miss half of what they are saying. The interviews are great ideas but poorly executed.

If you have 2000 something season ticket holders and are getting 1000-1500 walk up fans per game in a city of 150,000 something is wrong. They can attribute the decrease of attendance to the team performance but your walk up crowd really doesn't give a shit about the teams record. They are there for a night out. Attendance is down because people are having a shit time at games. I think your numbers are a little skewed ... many of those season tickets are company owned and they give them out to different employees and clients ... or sometimes the seats sit vacant. Quite often the people sitting in these seats are not diehard fans either. I don't know what percentage of the season tickets would fall under this category but I think it is a significant number none the less ... but less than 50%. Also, many who are considered season ticket holders are people who bought flex packs. Some of these will save their tickets for more "hockey weather" and come more often with buddies/family in the second half of the year.

That's what I meant. I can usually understand Les just fine, but I can barely hear the players or coaches talk, nevermind actually understand them.

About the lack of season ticket holders, specially when you factor in the flex passes and the company tickets, what can explain that?
The Wildcats get probably some of the best exposure in the city compared to others with the T&T, 103.1 always making mentions, all the games on radio thanks to NEWS91.9.
I know I'm not a season ticket holder and the hockey side has nothing to do with it. I have been and would love to be again and plan to be some day in the near future.
Any ideas?

Not sure why so many people feel there's a problem with attendance/season ticket holders, especially now in what seems to be an off year on the ice?
Take out the much larger centres (Quebec, Halifax) as we can't seriously compare numbers with these two. St. John's, Gatineau and Chicoutimi all have a considerably larger population than Moncton and we're outdrawing all three.... Saint John is roughly the same even though their building is light years ahead and located downtown.... and we're outdrawing slightly smaller cities like Sydney, Charlottetown, Drummondville, Lewiston by a good margin.
4000 people a game in October in a city this size looks pretty good if you look around the CHL.
That said there's a lot they could do (and NOT DO) to make the game more enjoyable... lots of good, free info for them in this thread.

This new GM might be the one reading? He seems to have a lot of good ideas. He's not as out in the open as Schurman was .. but this guy seems to have some different idea.. ( ie: ticket plans.. )

I enjoyed a couple of the changes tonight. Overall, it was much better then usual.
1- I enjoyed the fact that they had the announcer announce the starting lineup. It's a great change. I also liked how he insterted the "hard working" Zach Sill. The only thing is after the announcer does his bit, you either need to have the players introduce themselves on the board right after and no horn, or simply the horn without the players introducing themselves. I personally would prefer no horn at all, but if you really want to use it, you can't do it 5-7 seconds after the announcer is done his bit. It sounds too random and out of nowhere.
2- Speaking about the horn, I was really glad to see that it was not used stupidly. I don't think it was used at all exception made of the players' introduction and the goals. GOod job. Sometimes, less is more!
3- As far as the goal horn goes, I would still prefer to hear the Tomar roar (it sounds so much more powerful and menacing), however I was satisfied with what I heard last night. I don't know of the "wildcat" was less loud or what, but it was a lot less irritating then usual. Only thing I found was that he goal horn guy was slow on the button tonight. Usually a good 3-5 seconds would go by before you heard the horn.
4- Music was a lot better. I say that mainly because I barely noticed any repetitiveness. You still have both clap you hands songs, but they only played once each.
5- I loved the kids in the upperbowl. Lots of added noise that we don't get usually. If those were free giveaways, keep them coming! Makes the game more enjoyable for everyone really I find.

One more little thing. I still think it would be a great idea of they put up the out of town scores on the video board during the intermission. I don't know if they have the time because of Les' interview, but they should at the very least be announced verbally at somet point in time.
