It looked like there were plenty of scouts around Harbour Station that last couple of games. I don't know if that is what generated all the talk but lots of fans were buzzing.

The top ones that I heard were;

1. This is the last year for Foggies in Newfoundland. Outrages cost, facility leasing and poor fan support have resulted in such huge losses that they can no longer maintain operations on the Rock. However I heard there are a lot of places looking to take the team if indeed they are moving. I don't know who is on the list but would Fredericton ever be nice to add to the mix. Could you imagine the rivalries then??

2. Halifax is hard after Fullerton and are willing to deal. Could be good for us for next year but does that mean we are not going for it this year? We just beat the number three team in Canada so to say we are not in a position to take a run would be crazy. This was with no Liske, Hooper or Stich.

3. Lewiston is looking to deal with some of our youth. No one mentioned any names but it was supposedly a 17 year old. Anyone hear anything on this one and do they even have an 18 or 19 year old that could help us.

4. Finally I heard we will not see Liske until next year as in after Christmas. As I mentioned in previous post he is ripe to trade if someone wants to take the risk on a guy susceptible to injury but with potential. I really do not see where we have missed a beat without him. The points keep piling up for that line with or without him. Who needs a forward and what could we get in return?

Love this time of the year as everyone is talking but if people can add legitimacy to the above please feel free.

1. Look for Newfoundland to stock up to try and get people in the seats. They NEED to.

2. I doubt it, but if Halifax would take Fully, we should trade, no questions asked. And if there was any way to get Gilbert well.........We can get another goalie fairly cheap, and Fully can't help us next year on the team.

3. Lewiston has Beaton, Paquette (though I hope not) or a dman which could interest us.

4. Liske should not be on the first line, and if they get an offer for him, take it. Right now, we have Dido, Sparling, Leduc, Gauthier, Howes, and Picard playing well, and Anthony, Stoddard, and Charland could move up if necessary. Liske is not an upgrade on anyone.

What we need: players that can be top 6 next year, possibly another d (to replace mcneil who won't be back and is expendible if a deal appears), and a couple of trades to open up spots, with young players potentially being acquired for depth.

No way Halifax is gonna want Fullerton taking up a 20 spot on their team not happening you can't put a stamp on that one

Fredericton will not be getting a team anytime soon. Where would they play? UNB certainly will not be letting them play in their rink.

As for Liske...if we could get anything of value for him I'd say trade him as he is of no use to us as a 20 year old next year. Too injury prone. I doubt we get anything for him at all other than a very late draft pick at best. Thus we likely keep him, and yes he is an upgrade on people like Stoddard, Anthony, Charland, etc. Liske has 15 points in 18 games. None of those guys has 15 points in 29 games. As seen by the injuries we've been getting, and having to go with 17 skaters the other night, Liske gives us depth at the very least. He is older than those young guys though so trading him would be okay, but if we got nothing from it, why bother? He'd be more valuable to keep around in case someone else got hurt.

Put the guys you mentioned on the top line along side of Dido and Sparling like Liske has most of the games he played so far and they to would have simular numbers........... so is Liske really any upgrade like you say......

As for the Fullerton trade I can;t see this being anything other then hot air. Fullerton is not any huge upgrade( if any) so why bother making room for him. Fullerton does have a rep for being a big money goaltender.

he was looking for a deal. val d'or had no intention of offering one. they thought quebec would overpay to get him.

I say we hold off any big splashes until next season where we should be really going for it.

one of our extra forwards and our 2nd might get it done. We'd have to pay less than Quebec.
