The Fog Devils may be leaving. Fredericton woul be a nice spot but they never really supported AHL when it was there not sure if they would suppport Jr team and they don't have the right type of facility to call home. The league has said many times it wants a team back in Montreal and would have it play out of the Bell centre so if the Devils close up shop it would more than likely go there. Who knows what JB will do he usually finds a way to surprise us with a deal no one saw coming, but I can't see him doing more than minor tinkering.

If we HAD to move one of the trio of Grant, Sauve and Despres, I'd move Sauve. No I am not saying "trade Sauve!". Just that if JB suddenly for some reason had to trade one of those three, I'd chose him. No way would I deal Despres unless the deal was mindblowingly in our favor.

I think Saint John would be wise to put Depres on the table in potential trades.

Think about it- the guy is a bluechipper and will be good next year. But there aren't many defensmen who are really STARS at 17. And the Sea Dogs defense certainly isn't hurting without him. He's the least likely to be an impact player of your young stars when the big run comes around next year.

So if you can trade Depres without giving up much else, you may be in position to really go for it 2 years in a row.

Exactly...Despres is potetially the best d-man we have seen yet. This guy is the total package and will make it to the big show someday...

IMO he deserves the #3 d-man spot on the depth chart behind Grant and Sauve. Not bad for a 16 year old.

Finally got down to see the 07-08 DOGS today
Simon Despres-WOW....I have a new favorite seadog....move over Stich.....cant wait to see this guy in a couple of years

Some of us have been of that opinion for about..........3 months now ;D ;D

Sorry. Sauve not living up to the billing this year at all. I'd rank HIM #4 behind Grant, Stich and Despres actually. Grant the best overall. Stich best defensively. Despres best prospect.

I do expect Sauve to be like Grant was though. Pick it up in the 2nd half of this year (as 17 year old) and then really make his strides as an 18 year old. With how he is playing right now though? Sauve ranks #4.

Sauve at times looks absolutly lost out there scrammble goals in front of our net he just realizes that was my man as the puck enters the net thats what needs to change for rico swaaavee

Sauve does need to make adjustments and I think during the second half we'll really start to see him make those improvements I really think he has a ton of upside he just needs to bring it all together. The draft is looming and I think after Christmas he'll really start to focus on the things more.

Despres is playing better then Sauve right now but to Sauve's credit he does tend to play alot against the other teams top line which is more then most 17yr old defenseman do in this league but I don't disagree that at times he does seem lost on the ice.
