Of course not but it was his play here that got him drafted. It wasn't just showing up here. He had to perform at an elite level just to get a 7th round look. Expecting that to translate to an instant pro opportunity was a poor expectation allowed to set in by the people handling him. He should have an agent preparing him for all scenarios, including the very likely trip back to the Q as an overager which is not at all out of place for someone drafted after their 19yo season. Not sure why he and his people allowed that sense of entitlement to set in. It'd be a red flag if i'm running Tampa Bay. How does he act next year if I give him a contract and he still can't play AHL? as a 7th round pick.... it's very likely he never signs with them at all Especially at the rate he's going now..

For players in his position not getting drafted is much better as it leaves them with 30 options after the draft. When you're picked you have 1 option. If after this year he has not impressed that 1 option he'll be wishing he stayed in school.
