Not sure if its been mentioned but the Eagles have added goalie Matt Jurusik to their protected list. He's a 97 and played last year at U of Wisconsin. I wonder if theres a chance he shows up in CB. Moncton added him to their list last year before training camp. He was talked about in the paper too but he ended up committing to Wisconsin and I think was their starter this year. Maybe they hope he gets drafted and the teams wants him to play junior

I really thought Leblanc did enough to earn a contract, but I guess I was wrong as I'm sure others are as well.

Was wondering the same thing myself, there is also an American born Dman on the list as well. We haven't had much luck with the Americans reporting, hope that changes. The last two American of any significance were Cameron Darcy and Charlie Penn. From what I can remember, Chris Holden wasn't totally terrible

Seems odd to me, Bishop good enough to play in the AHL next year but LeBlanc not? lol no Wonder if someone else uses a 6th/7th round pick on him this year and signs him, I still feel like he won't be back next year but I guess we'll see.

Imo Bishop's development was stalled a bit due to the fact he's like glass.. But the Hurricanes took a flier which is great. If I was a team I'd take a flier on Leblanc in the 5th round if not the 4th round. Don't forget he was at the Team Canada summer camp last year and got into a few games, so his stalk isn't low.

A year can change a lot, hell two changes even more. Maybe CBJ had a change of heart or have different needs at this point. With 2016 draft coming up they can use those picks and spots to fill new needs. Leblanc will get a contract I'm sure just wasn't meant to be with the Blue Jackets. Pelletier I'm not surprised though.

I think Leblanc will get an AHL deal with Lake Erie I think it is. Sort of what happened with Marco Roy last year with the Oilers. He won't take a spot on the reserve list yet he gets to develop within the organization while they reconsider him.

Marcus Tesink on his way to Cape Breton. Eagles give up a 2016 6th round pick to the Wildcats.

So, Tesink and Hickey already. Fairly busy start to the offseason for Dumont.

Since the draft is over I thought I would take a shot at what next years team could look like. Minus Carozza becuase of the rumors of him asking for a trade.
Fiore-Dubois-Euro Euro-Martineau-Hoyt Fournier-Smith-Boucher Bertrand-Batherson-Caza X-Hickey,Bourret
Bisson-Leveille Roy-MacIntyre Tesink/Baillargeon-Sansfacon X-McCormick
Mandolese Jessiman

looking at thw 20s for next year and given the rumour that both Leveille and Carozza want out, I think a threesome of MacIntyre,LeBlanc and Fiore would be quite allright. We will need some help on the backend this year to help out the young goalies and help out with one of our Achilles heels, goals againt. I wouldn;t mind having 2 twenty year olds on the back end.

Our D is young and inexperienced. MacIntyre and Leblanc would be the perfect duo. But only if Leblanc is back.

What's interesting is that having a veteran goalie behind a veteran D didn't make much of a difference for most of the last 2 years. Moving Leveille and Leblanc early and going with MacIntyre and Bisson as the vets with players like Baillergeon and Tesink offering some support to players like Roy and Sansfacon as they adjust to the league probably makes more sense then riding too many vets. How rough our season is will mainly depend on if Dubois is back. If he is then we probably have the leagues best overall forward for 2-3 months which should help get us into playoff territory even with a big selling job over the Xmas trade period. I think we're all interested in following the goalies and their development.

That kid from Halifax they drafted 21st overall will probably make it and Denny will give it a good go as well!
