I find it hard to believe that Dido, Esposito and Cormier made this team and Evander Kane, Brayden Schenn, Nazem Kadri and especially Taylor Hall did not make the team. I like Hall more than Tavares and in the end I think will be even better. Maybe his age had something to do with it but, I would of had him on the team over some of the other choices. From what I can see though it looks like Quinn likes the older players.

I am really glad to see a kid like Esposito get his shot this year...I hope he does well and does not become the kid from the Q that ends up getting benched for poor play...although after waiting so long to play he will probably be pretty hungry.
and after watching the games against the Russians I do not have a problem with the representation from the West..they have a pretty strong crop of players this year.
Let the complaining over the Roster begin.....

Let the complaining over the Roster begin..... I have no problem with what they did at this camp...they kept 3 of 5 Q players. My problem is the BS selections to the Q-Russia games...how do you pick some of the guys that were there and leave out guys like Riopel, Doyle, Barberio? That's the part that's mind boggling. They invited about 18 forwards and Doyle was not one of them(they had to add players because others were injured), had 3 goalies but not the guy that's playing lights out so far, had like 10 d-men but not Barberio who is one of the best all around d-men in the Q. He's as good as anybody after Bourdon and Kulikov.

For Barbs, it was an age issue (as well as no d-man replacements)...for Doyle, I guess they really didn't want him (like Kyle Beach)

no, the age issue is that he was between U-18 and U-20...the other D's were 17 or 19 with the exception of Sauve (who was invited to the summer camp for U-20)...

a lot of small forwards... only 5 that are 6 + feet Should be interesting since the US has a fairly big team....I don't think we'll push teams around this year....we'll have to rely on skill and hard work. Ian Cole * 6'1 218 Blake Kessel 6'2 204 Ryan McDonagh 6'1 208 Eric Tangradi 6'3 214 James van Riemsdyk * 6'3 211 Colin Wilson * 6'1 213

They have a dumb habit of inviting 16 and 17 year olds for the U18 yeam. Not only that but inviting Scandella ahead of Barberio is downright comical.

Those 30 NHL teams must be quite the pranksters then for selecting Scandella 4 rounds ahead of Barberio... NHL scouts screw up all the time ... they draft based on how they think a player is going to develop, not based on how good he is right now. Scandella has never stood out to me ... I wouldn't be surprised if he is never as good a player as Barberio is right now ... sometimes the NHL scouts out-smart themselves.

And 30 passed on Barberio in the 3rd round, then again in the 4th, then in the 5th... but yeah a homer poster from Moncton is better at this than 30 NHL scouting departments and team Canada brass. They're all wrong and you're right, that's the only logical conclusion here... comical indeed.
