I agree bois/ the poison has spread but i don't think it's to late to spread a little hydrogen peroxide on the open wounds.
regarding sitting the vets. I agree it is hard to make a point to the vets when the frst two lines are gettng too much unproductive ice time. I just thought if Jean did try it , it would be a wake up call for the vets. After reading some of the other posts as to how well some of the young guns were performing I think they deserve a chance, even if Jean doesn't. LOL

If I recall we had a coach here approx 3 years ago that no one liked and he was voted coach of the year in the NHL. Go figure! I felt I needed to respond to this as I was one of the more vocal against this coach we had 3 years ago. Let's take a trip down memory lane.... First, this coach (Alain Vigneault) was hired at Christmas time 2002 as a result of poor coaching from the Rocket and their choice of coach. He had the players, and a great team when they moved here. That being said...once the team was given some more rookies and new talent, he couldn't do anything with them. He started by taking the team to the 2nd round of the playoffs...then the 1st...and then not making the playoffs...and then he walks away...go figure. (Check his time in Montreal..only difference, he did walk away, he was fired) Alain Vigneault may have received the Coach of the Year award in the NHL, but that will be it for him. Only reason he got the award was because of Luongo...I don't see a bright future for Vigneault in the NHL now. He got to the 2nd round this past year in the playoffs...does that sound familiar? What the PEI Rocket need is a coach that can balance both veterans with the younger talent. Neither Alain Vigneault or Yanick Jean know how to do that. Plain and Simple.

I dont recall us being ousted in the first round with him behind the bench. He walks away? What a laughable statement. Anyone who passes up a pro job for juniors is crazy.

My mistake..it was their last year in Montreal where they lost in the 1st round...then the 2nd round here...and then no playoffs, and then he walked away to the NHL. I never said going the NHL was a bad thing, I was just stating that he left. Basically all I am saying is that Vigneault while he was a former and now current NHL coach...Was only able to coach when he had veteran players...He couldn't coach the younger players, at least in my opinion.

Some things will never change with Jean, Friday he played the first line Morrison / Walker 65-70% of the time, second line maybe 25% of the time, and the other two lines only saw the ice from the locker room to the bench. This is a short term fix, as you could see Saturday against the Moose, they looked like a tired team. (not great for team moral ) I believe Jean will be replaced at the end of the up coming road trip.
Also on another note; I don't think Jean the the assistant coach Corrado get along to good, saw them bantering back and forth at Fridays game.

Its just not all Jean's fault, how about the Gm and why is there not a 3rd coach on the bench who could be a defensive type coach which after watching Fridays game against Halifax there does not appear to be an offensive problem, they matched Halifax on shots, including dangerous ones, but your problems are in the back end and why not question the new assistant who was a goalie in his career, yet since he arrived your #1 goalie hasn't played well and your defence is very suspect and they need attention. A couple of experience D-man could change this whole situation for the better but it has to start with the Gm doing his job. Once this is done then evaluate Jean.

I don't totally agree with that assesment, Jean is the coach and he, and he alone is responsible for calling the shots, he decides the type of game he wants his players to play and if it is not working, the defensive zone coverage, it is up to him to evaluate and make the changes which may be more suitable for the players. Whether or not he and Corrado get alone that is another issue all together. I am perplexed as you are, why isn't there a third coach behind the bench, is it because if there is a coaching change maybe the new guy will bring someone he wants, that happens more then one might think.
