Are the Sea Dogs even having a training camp this season? Complete radio silence from the team….. Will it be open to public? Some sort of schedule for next week would be nice at the very least. Every other maritime team has all of the information and rosters out.

The team released details the Friday before camp started last year (and I believe it was the same the year before).
We did not get a roster at all last year, and the roster was released the night before the year before.

Add Gavin Watt (who played a few games over the past 2 seasons for Moncton) and Brady Stone (a 5'8 17 year-old D from Halifax)

Anything to be read into the lack of Kuznetsov on that list.

Anything to be read into the lack of Kuznetsov on that list. He's a pro until Calgary decides otherwise. His last team was Stockton (not on ATO) The thinking is that Stockton will offer 12-13 minutes 4 out of 5, while he'd play 25ish every night here. Edit: imo, it could be Christmas before we see Kuznetsov if he comes

I wonder what happened with William Dagenais (he was listed on the Sea Dogs roster last week but is now back on the Gatineau roster) and Davide Patella. There was some talk that both would play significant roles in the 'bottom 6'.

There was some talk that both would play significant roles in the 'bottom 6'. Dagenais was a loan with a pre-arranged trade, I believe. He appears to have decided against reporting and is Gatineau property. I have no idea about Patella.

It's going to be pretty crowded on D if Kuznetsov shows up. Without him, the top 6 spots are pretty much spoken for with this recent signing. The best other guys can hope for this season is the occasional call-up. I really hope they go with the 12 F and 6 D format this year instead of 11 F and 7 D like they did most of last season. If Kuznetsov shows I'd consider moving Poirier to forward if he doesn't improve defensively.

I'm not sure if Kuznetsov will ever get sent back to Junior but if he does that would give us some nice options on defense. If Despont, can be a good hard nose defenceman at this level along with Innis as a 20 and Drapeau another year older add Villeneuve, Desroches, and Poirier. That SHOULD give us a good D core.
If Calgary can persuade Poirier to start caring about his defensive side of the game, we could be sitting pretty good.

I believe #13 needs to make that same commitment to playing defence first instead of worrying about putting up points….

Team defense overall and compete level has been not been good.
