Thanks to all the players, coaches, and staff of the Charlottetown Islanders for making a historic season!
Thank you to all those who will be moving on. Brett Budgell especially, it's been great to watch him since he was 16 and see the player and leader he grew into. Noah Laaouan, an exceptional trade acquisition who became so integral to the team. Xavier Simoneaux, only had him for a short time but what an impact he made here, bought some great energy. Lukas Cormier, probably not returning, what a ride to get to watch him develop - can't wait to see what else he can do.
Excited to see what's next for so many of this year's team. I hope to be watching quite a few of them in the pros in the future.
And hey it was fun to watch Shawinigan celebrate (after our sad players left the ice) and get the cup. We will most likely see a few of them in the NHL and that's always cool. Good luck to them in the Memorial Cup!

It definitely won't be a 19 year wait again. Not while we have Hulton. Hulton will not be there forever. He is making a resume as a candidate for other positions at other levels. He certainly has given the organization a roadmap to success so the organization doesn't go backwards. Its only a matter of time - they all eventually move on - Tourigny, Grouxl, Ducharme especially when they have level head and a good judge of talent. The pros (again) and some university/college opportunities beckon. Edit: This QMJHL final is the farthest any of Hulton teams have achieved - he had never coached to a 4th round before. And his 6 years in PEI is longest he has been with any one organization Take it with a grain of salt but someone I was sitting near works in the school system with Hulton's wife and she wants to stay here I guess.

Congrats on a great year. Really thought this was the year for you but ah well. Only 1 team can win it all.
I definitely felt, and still feel, you guys were the better team. Cats just capitalized on their chances a bit more and we're carried by a couple star players. It happens. Moosehead fans felt the same pain when Giroux and Paul Byron pretty much single handedly beat us years back.
Hulton will have you guys back on track in no time.

What a great season the Islanders had, so many team and individual accomplishments all through out the lineup. It’s been a hell of a year and as much as it hurts that we were that close and couldn’t finish the job, it was still a hell of a ride and happy to be a part of something awesome. Congratulations to the Owners, staff and players on a great year. It was the best year yet and couldn’t be more proud of you all.
Good luck to our 20’s
Budgell- Hell of a captain always there sticking up for your teammates and coming up clutch when needed you will be greatly missed in an Isles jersey.
Simoneau- Heart of a lion the skill and speed you brought to the lineup was next to none all the best in your next step.
Laaouan- For a player that came out of nowhere to become the player you are is a great accomplishment, going to miss your thundering hits and that mean streak you brought on the back end . Cormier- what can you say top Defenceman in the league hands down the skill and the hockey IQ you brought to the lineup will be dearly missed. It was nice seeing you come on the back end as a small kid a lot of people questioned what hulton was doing when selecting you but boy did you prove everyone wrong. All the best in Vegas I will be cheering you on when you help lead Canada in the world juniors.
All the best Go Isles Go
See you in a few months. Can’t wait to get the season started again

Had a bit of time to get the taste of salt out of my mouth. Shame it had to come to an end, but damn what a fun season.
Had my struggles this year and this made for a really nice distraction on the rough days.
I can't wait to be back at the rink, who knows what magic they have in store for us next year.
Thanks everyone for another fun year of chatting hockey!

A great big THANK YOU to all the players, the hockey staff and the organization for putting on a record (many new records made) season we won't soon forget.
There are many here that have been here since the start with the Rocket. We have never experienced the hockey culture that we have watched over the past several years building to this season. There are many good talents in the wings waiting to make their mark on the Islanders, when they get their chance. Players now want to play here so, in my humble opinion, we will not be suffering as much as some teams do in the rebuilding years.
Every year now we get to see what the organization can put on the ice, and they have not let us down yet. In fact we have been surprised at what the Islanders are able to do.
Again, thank you to all the players, the bench staff, and the rest of the organization. And I will add, a thank you to all the fans. The team no longer plays in the Morgue.

Pretty much echo what everyone said already
What an atmosphere today was really thought we had them on the run but the pp and goalie change really settled them back down. Incredibly opportunistic team and this series is why i dont put much stock in analytics when it comes to hockey.
I look forward to seeing the rebuild and dont think we will be as bad as some think or for as long as some think.
Enjoy your summer everyone

After sleeping in it last night and reflecting on how good of a season it was, it was unbelievable do I wish we win? Absolutely am I sour we lost? Not at all this team made any true fan proud every night they stepped on the ice a lot of new fans and old fans came out of the woodwork to support this team again and I hope if anything this run has secured more of a fan base for the following years. The owners coaches scouts and players have all took this franchise from the biggest joke in the CHL to a model franchise and that is something we all can be proud of. Congrats to Shawinigan on winning the title a lot of people were saying we should’ve won and we’re the better team but for me Shawinigan deserved every win they got so congrats to them. Can’t wait for the draft to start to see this rebuild take place have a fun summer guys and gals
