if the Charlottetown stuff isn't going to happen I think a deal for Seymour makes a lot of sense for both teams.

I think Kearsey is not the answer. We just need to get 2 x top 6 offensively and we can compete with the good teams.
Lavigne, Larose, Mateiko by example..

I don't think any 2 of those guys make us that much more competitive in my opinion. We will have to rely on them heavily to score goals when no one else is really scoring. We would need all 3 and even then I don't think we'd be better than a Rimouski or Moncton, so I don't think spending like 6+ assets on these guys is the move. And I definitely wouldn't be moving lottery picks. BC and Chicoutimi likely add as well so that would be 5 contenders in our division alone? Maybe 6 depending what happens with the Eagles, that's a lot to pay for a 1st-2nd round exit when you're fighting from below.

If the Titan really wanted this year to be it they'd have to get Mateiko, Larose or Lavigne, Cote or Minville (upgrade Buteau), and then a top 4 D.
That likely costs you Arsenault, Gauthier, multiple 1sts, futures, etc. and even then the team could fall flat.

team would have to look something like this imo to be considered a contender. And even then our center core is young and inexperienced. so that's 4 top 6 Fs, and 2 top 6 D.
Mateiko - Peddle - Minville Huggan - Goguen - Larose Pilgrim-Edwards - Belanger - Sharkey Coulombe - Marmulak - St-Onge/Lallier
Out: Peddigrew Arsenault Gauthier Wood Brunet
Perron - Clements Golicic - Laberge Reynolds - Kingsley Daniele
Out: Lazare MacGillivray Buteau
Fleming Langevin
On paper this team would be competitive, but still going to be a very tough playoffs and not sure they'd be a favorite if others load up as well.
Just don't think this type of approach is really worth it and would cost a boatload.

You could also go heavy on the Val d'Or partner route.
Cote - Goguen - Sharkey Huggan - Belanger - Baril Pilgrim-Edwards - Marmulak - Fiala Coulombe - St-Onge - Lallier
Perron - Laberge Clements - Depatie Reynolds - trade Daniele
Fleming Langevin
this route is similar but feels less strong but still costs you a lot. We're also super young down the middle. Idk I think the Titans need an OA scoring forward that won't cost a crazy amount (Minville or similar but price dependent), a 17/18 YO D-man to fit the cycle (Depatie) and a depth scorer who's 17/18 with size that also fits the cycle (Michaud?).
2 guys in general I'd like to see them potentially add if they go a lesser route but fits the cycle is Seymour in BC and Wheeler in Blainville, they would be great adds to the 17 YO core we got going on.

It doesn’t make any sense for Bathurst to be trying to win this year. There’s no reason to buy from the middle, do what you can to position yourself for future years but this isn’t the one.

Best thing to do is sell high on 1-2 of your 19s, get some value back that fits the cycle, and MAYBE if the price is right get a scoring forward that makes sense, like a Buteau towards a Minville type deal, but I wouldn't be spending any prime assets.

Stay competitive and hope to get to round 2 but even if they bought a bunch they're likely out in round 2 anyways.

The way I see it there is no sense being buyers. And the team has only 2 players worth any value. When the buyers and the sellers finish doing what they have to do, if the team stands pat, then the 2-1 and 3-2 losses we currently experience to the contenders become 4-1 or 5-2 losses. The 2-1 or 3-2 wins the team currently have over the teams below us in the standings becomes 4-1 wins or 5-2 wins in the future. Generally speaking,of course.
The kids will also become better scorers with more experience. Unless a kid has elite talent, scoring develops with experience which they don't have a lot of.

Unless a kid has elite talent, scoring develops with experience which they don't have a lot of. yup pretty much, Chicoutimi, BC, Moncton, Rimouski, maybe CB will all get better in the division, not to mention Drummondville, Rouyn, and Shawinigan likely get better in the other. Sell high on your valuable guys (Perron and/or Clements), get guys that fit the cycle (17s), and go from there. We have a chance to draft 2 elite 16 year olds this summer, I'm not moving those picks. This team could very well end up being a Moncton type of the future when our 17 YO core is 19 and then we have 2 guys similar to Desnoyers to move to rebuild after contending. This team if built and developed properly could also be competitive 2 years in a row. making the 2nd round is likely the best thing this team could achieve this year with a big maybe on making the 3rd but it's doubtful. No need to overspend in hopes to try and leapfrog 4-5 teams when in order to do so would cost pretty much everything we have.

I think a sneaky candidate to be moved though could be Pilgrim-Edwards, 14 points in 23 games, and can play a good defensive role and works hard. I think he'd be a great pickup for some contenders bottom 6. I think something like a 2nd + 4th could make sense for him.
Lallier, Coulombe, St-Onge, MacGillivray, all likely have less value than him so they likely keep them unless they just do some generic shuffling.
Lallier was likely a candidate to be moved for more but he's struggled as of late and no one is going to pay that high for a guy with 1 goal in 22 games even if he's more of a playmaker.

No need to overspend in hopes to try and leapfrog 4-5 teams when in order to do so would cost pretty much everything we have. It also doesn't work that way based on current circumstances. You're not going to be in 5th and overspend to make up the difference unless you have certain types of players already in place. There's no Noah Dobson's on your roster to build around. And you can't overspend to acquire them because there's none to acquire. They're unicorns who come around once every few cycles and you win with them or cash out big but chances of small markets acquiring them at mid-season are almost 0. You could buy huge and making the 2nd round be no more likely...because the 4 ahead of you will also buy huge and you'll be starting on the road against a contender and I don't think we need to get into how that starts to slant against you in this league.

The problem with Pilgrim-Edwards (and nearly everyone like him) is that teams are finding similar players in the BCHL that they can bring in for free. The "depth" market has dropped off a cliff in the last couple of weeks.
