The rumours were bad enough but for Marek to tweet this before Christmas just feels like a kick to the nuts, My biggest regret now is I never got up to Bathurst to take in a game. |

According to an article in today's Acadie Nouvelle - The Governor of the Acadie Bathurst Titan, Daryll Stothart, states that there has been no deal concluded regarding the sale of the team - not with St John's or with a group from Montreal.

No deal concluded, meaning voted on by the Board of Governors, which would conclude a sale. |

FWIW, I saw something that hinted that the league might buy the team then sell it themselves (presumably to get around the other Maritime teams blocking it. |

Summerside has a real nice arena.....I wish it was in Charlottetown. Saying so, the hockey fans up there are VERY loyal Caps fans i cannot see the City even discussing about bring a Q team in, at all. They won't have to. The arena size along with the population size make it a moot point for the Q. What would the attendance in Summerside look like in year 3 or 4 of a Q rebuild? Their 1st place Jr A team has had nights of 942 and 1003 as attendance numbers. They average 1641. There are three Q teams averaging 1600. With the bump in attendance you would expect from moving up to a Q team, they would likely be middle of the pack. |
