I assume Hackett will be their 7th d-man?

I assume Hackett will be their 7th d-man? I think it is too early to assume much of anything … it is a possibility, but we will see how the dust settles in the next couple of weeks. Likely more trades to come.

To Victo: Iasenza 2024 5th To Moncton: 2023 1st (Sherbrooke) 2023 3rd (Moncton) 2025 3rd Not sure how I feel about this trade. I think he’ll amongst the leagues top defenders next season and will likely return as an overager. The 1st will be one of the last picks in the round. I’d have kept him , especially with a young blue line and re evaluated next year

That’s a great return for Iasenza. And it opens up room for Grenier and Fortin-Gendron to play more minutes

Even if it is a late 1st it's still a 1st. Loshing was a later 1st, Morin & Mercier were early 2nd rounders. You don't get early firsts in return unless you are trading for a star player.

I think it is a very good return for Iasenza … worst case, we end up flipping the haul for a similar or better player a year or two from now when we are contenders.

I assume Hackett will be their 7th d-man? My gut tells me the Sherbrooke 1st will be flipped for some help on D.

I don’t see the logic in trading a defence man who likely has 2.5 years left in the league and then immediately turning around and trading the majority of that return for another, likely worse, defence man. At that point, why even trade Iasenza. Essentially, are 2 3rd round picks worth getting a worse or older player?

But trading the 1st would feel more like a lateral move
