Some players just fit at a certain level. Allen IMO is a better fit in JrA. Similar to Kian Bell. Rutledge was a difference maker when he was called up...Allen was not.

Jarrett Todd's Jra rights were traded to Summerside .
Big trade for Summerside...David is a good JrA player.....but what the Caps gave up is not worth him alone.

I’m confused by this. Can you explain what this means for us? Is Todd leaving? Or were the rights to the player traded?

Rights traded, basically they’re hoping he’ll be with them after Christmas and/or next season.

Usually when Pat makes trades like this, he has a good sense of what’s going to happen with the player.

In recent years, there seems to be a pretty good working relationship between the Jr. A Caps and the major junior Islanders. If the Caps are acquiring Todd's rights, they probably have a heads up that he might be available to them in the near future.

This can be a helpful sort of deal to, when it comes to a player's education. I'm not sure of what Todd does for school, but he is 19. If he's taking courses at UPEI and isn't going to be with the Islanders after Christmas, it's much easier for him to suit up with the Caps and stay on PEI then to have to report to Campbellton, who previously owned his Jr. A rights.

I sort of figure that both Todd and Sam Bowness are going through a bit of an evaluation period in this stretch of games before Christmas. You could make the case that both guys would have had competition for jobs in training camp, but injuries kept them out of action. They are both experienced guys, so they get a fair look in game action now and maybe are part of our team in the second half..... or maybe they end up in Jr. A.

We'll have to wait and see!

I think it stands to reason a 19 year old 3rd year player with zero points is not likely to stick around full season on a rebuilding club

and if he does somehow stick around there is virtually no chance he competes for a roster spot as an overager so Summerside adds his rights for that year

Personally I think there are a handful of guys who could be junior A bound either after Christmas or next season

I think he’s very useful on the PK tho. Not like the Isles are deep anywhere on the lineup. With that said, him gone, Bowness or a few others ya wouldn’t notice if they were sent down.

I'm really surprised to see Bowness back. Honestly figured his spot would be given to a young player coming into the league.

Hopefully he comes back in though and can play well.

At 17yrs old, I would prefer to see Evan Nicholson playing JrA with Amherst rather then another season in Major Midget.

I always hoped big things from him, along with Campbell........but im not sure on Nicholson anymore.

As I said, at 17, I wish he was playing JrA......not Midget.

Can only play 10 as an affiliate and can only be fully called up after next weekend.

Can we all agree on something…there’s no way Dugay should be with the team after Christmas right? He’s gotta go to Jr A or Midget to work on his game IMO

I don’t agree with that at all. His +/- is on par with the rest of them. And better in the last 10 games than the other D, other than Vos.
