It's funny how we're one of the bottom teams in all stats, but our power play is third at 25%. Impressive given how bad it can look at times.
Also Moncton first at almost 30% is absolutely wild.

With the additions of Shields, Allen, and Swan…does anybody wanna make a guess on the lines?
I feel like we have a lot of guys that you want in the top 6 but none are real superstars…
Horth - Morneau - Campbell Huckins - Powers - Hughes Shields - Butler - Michaud Swan - Flanagan - Allen Extras: Walker/Maruna
I like that third line and you could probably move them into the “2nd line” but the Huckins line has been solid for us ever since they’ve been put together.
Swan and Allen are guys that likely need to be put in good offensive opportunities to put up any type of point totals but there’s a pretty good chance they don’t get that chance unless injuries happen. At the very least, that 4th line has a much better chance of making something happen then rolling out Walker - Todd/Flanagan - Arsenault

Does anyone know what happened to the "Protect the Bridge" user? I haven't heard from him on here or Twitter in months! Missed his takes.

First time we see the top line together since early December. They were playing really well together for a good stretch of games. Will Shields now has 6pts in 8gp since joining the Isles. Half of those in one game though. Hopefully he'll work out for us though. Would be nice for us to walk away from Christmas with at least one good piece/asset. I said it before though, we have a really weird team this year. When they want to and really put the effort in, we've competed well against some of the most dangerous teams in the league this year. On the flipside we've had a team be so lazy and out of sorts that we get pounded by teams like Chicoutimi (who was on a 9 game slide). I don't know what the solution is to the inconsistency. If it's just a wait it out thing or maybe make a change or two with the team. (No, I'm not suggesting firing Jim). It's just strange that some aspects of our game rival the top teams this year like power play and penalty kill. We haven't even really gotten blown out in many games this year. We've given Halifax fits, we've played alright against Moncton, and we've beaten Drummondville. We even played fairly well against the Drakkar who have 6 losses and 2 overtime losses. We have moments where we dictate the play against anyone. And I think they'd at least have to consider trading a guy like Kearsey either at the draft or Christmas. But he reminds me a lot of guys like Joseph and Gormley where they weren't the flashiest players but they were dependable. I think any team looking to make a run would want a guy like Kearsey. I'm also not saying to jump the gun and trade him, but we're in a position where I think all options need to be looked at. Everyone is saying the goal is a run with 18 year old Conrad and 19 year old Kearsey. I just don't see it right now. Maybe I'm missing something that others are seeing, but I just don't see a legitimate contending team at that point. If I'm totally off-base saying that, I'm open to seeing evidence contrary to what I'm saying. I just think forcing a run in that year could be falling into a PEI Rocket trap where we're good enough to have entertaining games, but not good enough to really be a threat in the league. I think forcing a run to try to make fans happy would be a huge mistake. Again, maybe I'm wrong in saying all of that.

What will help though is we should have an early pick in the import draft, however the other two leagues have a good amount of teams that will likely finish below us. In that list of players too, there's decent and wildcard pieces. Nothing on that list really screams QMJHL Champion right now though (not for us anyway). I don't even see us winning two rounds with that lineup. I do think our best chance at a good rebuild is to make the painful decision to sell of what we can, maximize the value of our tradeable players.

There could be 6 whl teams with less points but it doesn’t matter. The Q will pick 1-4-7 etc this year

Hinkley also would have been an asset we shopped and likely moved at Christmas, but the circumstances of his injury meant they we weren’t able to deal him.
