Any ideas what, if anything JB will do?

I think we are sending one of St. Laurent or Passingham in the Howes deal. And there are rumors we gave up Amyot for Picard. Plus JB has hinted that he'd like a first.

If we did give up Amyot he's gonna have to do something to add more depth to the blueline because there is no way Scott McDonald is ready to play at this level.

We could bring back Pisano. I have no idea how either he or McDonald are progressing, if at all.
I think it's safe to say Fullerton is staying.
I wonder if a Pard deal will be announced.

I can't help but wonder if JB will try moving Hooper and/or Howes at the deadline, especially if they keep putting up numbers. If he can get more for them than he paid, and some forwards that will actually be able to play for us next year...
I also wonder if we'll see Gauthier moved, even if he only fetches like a mid-to-late draft pick. Maybe he could be used to get that #6 D-man if the Amyot rumors are true. I can't see him back as a 20 year old for us next year.

If he wanted to go for a home run, he'd try to pry Perreault from Bathurst. He should be back next year, simply because he is the 7th or 8th centre on the Caps depth chart for the minors.

Can't imagine what he would have to give up for Perrault. It will never happen.

Not even a chance of that with Bathurst hoping to contend, they're not going to trade their best player in a go for it year.

Not gonna trade him and even if they did they'd never trade him to the Sea Dogs lol

We shouldn't be going for a Perreault anyway. Not for this year. This year we're likely a "one and done" playoff team. We need to get forwards for next year. Thats when we should try a serious run at things.
As much as I love Hooper and Howes, we need them to keep piling up points so we can move them for younger forwards. Their loss for next year will be hard for the offense to overcome if we don't get something back in return for them.

I think that Thomas could move up to the third line if not second but he needs to start getting some ice. Probably as good as any other 17 year old we could get. Would not trade him because there is no gain in it for the Dogs. I like Hooper and Howes as well but we could get plenty for them with teams that are making a run.
Then again what are JB's plans for next year. If we go for the big name player this year and sell the farm, then I say that he is looking at moving on to bigger and better things next year. If he trades for youth that could mean he is staying for a while. The better we do the better his stock. This is a business and he appears to know how to play the game.

Thomas is not a 2nd line guy nor should he be considered one 3rd line he could handle he a banger that's it. I doubt very highly JB would sell out the team to try and make a run and leave the tank empty for next year if he did that who the heck would want them running their team in the future. He's a smart guy I'm sure he'll make good choices no matter what his future holds he won't sell out this francise.
