Oops. I think Warner is history until mid-season. I think the Mooseheads should look at trading a few of the 18's or throw 1 of the 17's for a good 19 that can play as a 20 next year and open a spot for Warner. Not to mention a few draft picks could be used to since there won't be many open spots next year.

They arent going to trade guys to open up a spot for Warner. I like the kid, but lets be real...he is a 3-4 shift per game player who caught some bad luck by being drafted to Halifax this year instead of last year.

I wasn't saying that it would open a spot for just Warner. I think we need to move bodies for potential players for next year and if they need a body for the rest of the year Warner is perfect. You can always AP him next year again.

Here is an Updated Roster. I look through Haligonian's lines, this roster and thinK if we can score some goals at a resonable pace we just may win more then we lose. The Future is Bright in [glow=green,2,300]MOOSE COUNTRY[/glow] FORWARDS (16) | AGE | HT | WT | GP | G | A | PTS | PIM | 2009-10 TEAM | Gerrad Grant | 20 | 5.11 | 170 | 64 | 22 | 26 | 48 | 47 | Halifax (QMJHL) | Charles Bety | 20 | 5.11 | 183 | 64 | 13 | 11 | 24 | 73 | Halifax (QMJHL) | Travis Randell | 19 | 5.11 | 200 | 68 | 18 | 27 | 45 | 20 | Halifax (QMJHL) | Gabriel Desjardins | 18 | 5.11 | 191 | 62 | 11 | 21 | 32 | 46 | Halifax (QMJHL) | Carl Gelinas | 18 | 5.11 | 172 | 56 | 14 | 16 | 30 | 15 | Halifax (QMJHL) | Alex Lemieux | 18 | 5.11 | 184 | 50 | 7 | 7 | 14 | 41 | Halifax (QMJHL) | Bradley MacDonald | 18 | 5.1 | 185 | 35 | 4 | 3 | 7 | 20 | Vic/Hfx (QMJHL) | Brent Andrews | 17 | 6.01 | 183 | 64 | 7 | 9 | 16 | 33 | Halifax (QMJHL) | Darcy Ashley | 17 | 5.08 | 162 | 46 | 26 | 41 | 67 | 61 | Summerside (MJAHL) | Matthew Boudreau | 17 | 5.08 | 150 | 41 | 26 | 38 | 64 | 11 | Saint-Eustache (QUE-AAA) | Alexandre Souligny | 17 | 6 | 190 | 27 | 11 | 13 | 24 | 24 | Esther-Blondin (QUE-AAA) | Luke Warner | 17 | 5.11 | 174 | 34 | 9 | 10 | 19 | 122 | Pictou (NSMMHL) | Martin Frk | 16 | 5.11 | 184 | 39 | | | 57 | | Czech Under 20 | Luca Ciampini | 16 | 5.11 | 186 | 38 | 18 | 25 | 43 | 56 | Chateauguay (QUE-AAA) | Andrew Ryan | 16 | 6.02 | 170 | 42 | 18 | 25 | 43 | 38 | Notre Dame (SASK-AAA) | Francis Turbide | 16 | 6.03 | 177 | 35 | 12 | 25 | 37 | 54 | Trois-Rivieres (QUE-AAA) | DEFENSE (8) | AGE | HT | WT | GP | G | A | PTS | PIM | 2009-10 TEAM | Pascal Amyot | 20 | 6.04 | 212 | 66 | 7 | 19 | 26 | 35 | Halifax (QMJHL) | Konrad Abeltshauser | 18 | 6.03 | 202 | 48 | 5 | 20 | 25 | 28 | Halifax (QMJHL) | Garrett Clarke | 18 | 6 | 198 | 45 | 6 | 16 | 22 | 165 | Halifax (QMJHL) | Steve Gillard | 18 | 5.1 | 184 | 54 | 1 | 7 | 8 | 36 | Halifax (QMJHL) | Sawyer Hannay | 18 | 6.04 | 190 | 54 | 1 | 5 | 6 | 158 | Halifax (QMJHL) | Jamie Bishop | 17 | 5.11 | 170 | 25 | 0 | 4 | 4 | 6 | Halifax (QMJHL) | Trey Lewis | 17 | 5.11 | 180 | 34 | 9 | 22 | 31 | 47 | Halifax (QMJHL)/Miraamichi (NB-AAA | Simon Desmarais | 16 | 6 | 181 | 42 | 0 | 4 | 4 | 22 | Antoine-Girouard (QUE-AAA) | GOALIE (3) | AGE | HT | WT | GP | W-L-O | SO | GAA | Sv% | 2009-10 TEAM | Peter Delmas | 20 | 6.02 | 181 | 41 | 20-16-0 | 1 | 3.24 | 0.897 | Que/Hfx (QMJHL) | Mathieu Corbeil | 19 | 6.06 | 192 | 50 | 8-39-0 | 0 | 3.83 | 0.883 | Halifax (QMJHL) | Anthony Terenzio | 17 | 5.09 | 160 | 20 | 15-2-2 | – | 2.41 | 0.902 | Shattuck-St. Mary's (PREP) |

3rd Attempt:
Goalies Corbeil Terenzio
Defence Amyot - Abeltshauser Clarke - Gillard Hannay - Lewis Bishop Desmarais
Forwards Grant - Bety - Randell Ashley - Andrews - Frk Lemieux - Gelinas - Desjardins Ciampini - Boudreau - Turbide Souligny - Ryan
This is what I would like to see tried for the line combos but I am sure that's not what Cam will do.
Plus is it just me or wouldn't the Moose be better off getting rid of Bety and keeping MacDonald (only use 2 20s for now) because I think its going to be really tough for Souligny and Ryan to get icetime.

We with them saying today that two more forwards will be cut it's look like this is our possible final lineup:
Forwards: Grant (20) Bety (20) Randell (19) Desjardins (18) Gelinas (18) Lemieux (18) Andrews (17) Ashley (17) Frk (17) Boudreau (17) Turbide (17) Souligny (17) Ryan (16) Ciampini (16)
Forward Avg Age: 17.64
Defense: Amyot (20) Abeltshauser (18) Clarke (18) Gillard (18) Hannay (18) Lewis (17) Bishop (17) Desarais (16)
D Avg Age: 17.75
Goalies: Corbeil (19) Terenzio (17)
Goalie Avg Age: 18
Team Avg. Age: 17.71 Team Avg. Age Last Year: 17.83
This is assuming the the two cuts up front are Warner and MacDonald and Delmas is trade.

Bradley MacDonald has been cut by the Moose according to Wuest's twitter. I have to feel for the kid. Almost any other year he could have found himself a role with this club.

Age is one measurement of experience. Number of Q games is another.
Forwards: Grant (131) Bety (123) Randell (180) Desjardins (122) Gelinas (56) Lemieux (50) Andrews (64) Ashley (0) Frk (0) Boudreau (5) Turbide (0) Souligny (0) Ryan (0) Ciampini (0)
Forward Avg Q games: 55.2
Defense: Amyot (242) Abeltshauser (48) Clarke (91) Gillard (54) Hannay (54) Lewis (8) Bishop (5) Desarais (0)
D Avg Q games: 62.8
Goalies: Corbeil (74) Terenzio (0)
Goalie Avg Q games: 37
Team Avg. Q games: 55.3
Although the team average Q games per player is 55.3 games, about one season worth, there are 8 players who have yet to play a Q game, one who has played 8 games and two who have played just 5 games. That is 11 players, almost half of the team with no or very little game expeience. This year will be a learning experience for quite a few players. This will be an exciting year for Moosehead hockey; hopefully, the expectations won't be through the roof. They are going to need time. Go Moose.

Right on with the expectations... this team is younger than last year but with all of the excitement, many returning players and positive press I can see the expectations getting a bit too high... the experience and proven play just isn't there.
Looking at the point predictions thread most people are putting Halifax down with 70-something points... I put 68 and felt that was somewhat optimistic. I think if everything goes generally well, the goaltending and D plays to expectations and they find somewhat regular scoring this team could be 10-12 in the league. 10th place last year had 70 points. I think a more realistic expectation (up and down season but they don't fall apart) is more in the 13-15 range.
I don't expect anyone on this team to be a 60 point player this year... I just hope they find some depth scoring and they have a good number of 40-50 point players.

wow MacDonald got cut... guess that trade we made last year wasn't so bad afterall..... since none of the 3 players involved in the 2 MacDonald deadline deals have made a Q team for this coming season.. Street, MacDonald, Pelletier

You think trading a talented 17 year old for a marginal 19 year old in Pelletier and his 0 points of offense was an ok deal afterall because we couldnt find a spot for him once Frk was obtained? Not sure if they would trade him, or if he wants to be traded, but he could have another 3 years in this league and if he plays regularly he will contribute.
