Really? You think trading a talented 17 year old for a marginal 19 year old in Pelletier and his 0 points of offense was an ok deal afterall because we couldnt find a spot for him once Frk was obtained? Not sure if they would trade him, or if he wants to be traded, but he could have another 3 years in this league and if he plays regularly he will contribute. yes really after 3 teams now... in his 3rd season of junior eligibility....never played regularly in any of his stints.. refused to report to one club.. quit another . and he's cut from a young rebuilding club as a hometowner... what trade value do you suppose MacDonald has left? it looks like it's a wash deal to me..... Well MacDonald had 5 pts in 20 games... Pelletier had 0 pts in 23 games... so back to Halifax winning that trade regardless of what happens to MacDonald this year

McDonald is capable of playing a role on probably any team in this league... the Moose are just going really young. He's only 18 and I think 30 point season would be close to a given with regular time with upside beyond that. He should be on this team but without him guys like Turbide, Ryan Souligny can be given a bit more icetime/a spot on the team.

Warner is in the lineup tonight... likely a last ditch effort to stick, but the odds are heavily against him. With him around, they would have 15 forwards, which is just too many. No more than 2 should sit at any given time, and if for some reason 7 dmen get dressed, that means 3 sit. MacDonald and Warner should be affiliate players though.

Okay here goes:
Grant Bety Randall Desjardins Andrews Ashley Gelinas Turbide Frk Ciampini Boudreau Lemieux
Ryan Souligny
Abeltshauser Amyot Clarke Gillard Lewis Hannay
Bishop
Corbeil Terenzio
Some thoughts:
Frk and Lemieux could be swapped so Alex could play with two guys who have played with each other and be the "digger" on that line- Alex has impressed me with his speed and forechecking ablilty while this would allow Frk to play with two other offensive rookies.
The veteran line could be used as a shutdown line against other teams top lines.
I see a team that could by the end of the season roll four lines and get offence off of all of them; it depends on how the kids develop.

Here's mine
Frk/Gelinas/Grant Desjardins/Andrews/Ashley Bety/Randell/Lemieux Ciampini/Boudreau/Turbide Ryan/Souligny
Not sure if Gelinas is experienced enough to center a top line, but it's worth a shot. 4th line would get a lot of ice time, so it's not insulting to be there. Lots of skill, and more ready to step in- Ryan. Souligny would fill in for Turbide or Bety if Delmas gets a start.
Amyot/Abeltshauser Clarke/Gillard Lewis/Hannay Bishop Desmarais

I like him in that spot tho...playing with other talented players and in an offensive role. He's one of the few guys who have good finish and touch around the net. He's lethal from the hash marks in. I like the 3rd line you put together. Bety and Randall can play on the top 2 lines and play fine, but I think they would be exceptional in a 3rd line checking/scoring role. You'd get the best of them. Even though MacDonald got cut today, anyone else see him back in the fold at xmas if (and it's a big if) we get an offer on Bety and move him? MacDonald plays a similar style to Bety, and being 2 yrs younger, perhaps it could benefit the team more to go with the younger option. I'm not suggesting they should have cut Bety from camp and kept MacDonald. Bety has had a great camp and he's important to the team. But FF to xmas, and say Bety is putting points on the board, playing physical 2 way hockey, and Cam gets a solid offer and moves him. I see no reason why MacDonald wouldn't find his way back here. I feel bad for him. He got caught in the numbers. He wasn't cut for bad play.

He appears to be a leader, will absolutely protect teammates and has shown some offense. MacDonald has shown nothing, hence cut and not traded. I am not sure what you have seen in him that makes you think he could bring what Bety brings.

Here's mine Frk/Gelinas/Grant Desjardins/Andrews/Ashley Bety/Randell/Lemieux Ciampini/Boudreau/Turbide Ryan/Souligny Amyot/Abeltshauser Clarke/Gillard Lewis/Hannay Bishop Desmarais Just seeing what they have been trying in the preseason games I get the feeling that your lineup may be what they may be thinking for a lineup. They did split up the Andrews line last night for the first time in camp though and that was in the first game after Frk was announced so maybe they have another idea. Of note the guys that didn't play last night and who stayed in Hali to practice with Frk were Grant and Desjardins... not sure if that means anything. Randell has played a fair bit of center in the preseason games and was 10-5 in the circle last night... Bety and Lemieux worked well together as tireless checker in the game vs. CB. They could make a solid 3rd line like you have. Should be interesting.

Well is seems like our non existent drafting days are behind us... how the Moose has put together this team.
2010 Midget and Euro draft - 8 players: Terenzio, Desarais, Ryan, Souligny, Turbide, Ciampini, Ashley + Frk
2009 Midget and Euro draft - 8 players: Gillard, Hannay, Lewis, Bishop, Andrews, Boudreau, Gelinas + Abeltshauser
2008 Midget draft - 2 players: Desjardins and Lemieux
2007 Midget Draft - 3 players: Randell, Corbeil and Grant
Trades - 3 players: Bety, Amyot and Clarke.
Delmas is the only other - picked up in a trade and should be traded - and today and yesterday may be helping the Moose tidy up that situation. Delmas stood on his head in the Mooseheads last game and two teams that could potentially use his services watched their goalies let in 5 tonight. Tremblay (Rimouski) let in 5 vs. Bathurst and St. Laurent (Saint John) let in 5 vs. PEI. I hope Rimouski is the team and that he heads out of the division and helps Rim in what should be a very good year.
