CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Charlottetown Islanders and Drummondville Voltigeurs completed two separate trades in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on Aug. 18.
The Islanders acquired goaltender Jacob LeBlanc in exchange for a ninth-round pick. The 19-year-old LeBlanc, from Dieppe, N.B., played with the Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals of the Maritime Junior Hockey League last season.
“We’ve had a couple of kids go down with injuries for our camps, and we know LeBlanc well from playing in Summerside,” said Islanders general manager and head coach Jim Hulton. “The plan right now is he would be our third goalie and probably continue to play with the Caps, but it’s nice to have that insurance policy close by.”
LeBlanc, who missed time with an injury, played five regular-season games for the Capitals. He went 2-2 (won-lost) while posting a 3.11 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage.

There's some twitter action rolling out this morning with goal scorers from the intra-squad games. It was a quiet weekend, but we are a few days behind the other teams getting going. They've made cuts and have more updates.
It was announced this weekend that all ice sessions and intrasquad games are limited to team staff and parents of players who are at camp. There will be 100 tickets sold for tomorrow's exhibition game vs. Saint John... I expect it will mostly be parents who are attending that game.

Islanders social media did some updating of the goal scoring at the intra squad game today. Goal scorers were Michael Horth (3), Zach Lorette (2), Daniel Kline, and Sam Archibald.
Also, there were some players released from camp today. The media release did not specify which players were cut and which ones left on their own accord to preserve NCAA eligibility.
The following players are no longer in camp.
Dustin Riff - 2021 11th round selection Jack Flanagan - 2021 6th round selection Jano Zambakdjian - 2021 10th round selection Kevin Walker - 2021 9th round selection Brendon Crowell - 2020 10th round selection
Crowell was not included on the initial training camp roster released last week, so perhaps there are some changes from that document vs. who is actually on the ice this week.

Did I dream this or I did I read somewhere that we could watch the exhibition games via the Isles you tube channel?

Did I dream this or I did I read somewhere that we could watch the exhibition games via the Isles you tube channel? Correct. Only 100 fans allowed tonight and you’d have to think most of those will be parents. Shouldn’t be much of a game, the Seadogs have been playing a couple of their young stars so far..and in that they’ve started camp a few days ahead of us, it has the makings to be ugly. Hopefully I’m wrong though.

Agreed SJ has been playing some vets as well I believe.. we started camp later than anyone. I just say I’ve been rather disappointed with the coverage so far.. no look at the rosters for the scrimmage yesterday just been quiet.

My best guess on a SJ lineup is:
Burns - Lawrence - Dufour Woods - Savoie - Elie Mccluskey - Laforge - Bezeau O'Blenis - Watt - Miville
Drapeau - Grenier Gartley - Roode Casey - Desroches or Villeneuve
Patenaude Brideau or Shingarov
With them being used as groups more than set lines

Not that it matters, but why would they even think about playing Lawrence and Burns against a full rookie squad who 90% of them may never see a regular season Q game.
I guess they gotta get them tuned up for the regular season, just to be overhyped yet again

A fair number of regulars in your projection! I wonder if we will get a pre game line=up from the Islanders camp

I expect Gordie Dwyer to ensure the Dogs have their working boots on right out of the gate given what he's been tasked to do for that franchise. What the other team does in preseason is pretty irrelevant. Don't take it personal. Preseason is preseason.

Tough loss for the Islanders hopefuls tonight. I'm sure we see the roster trimmed down significantly in the next day or so.
Looking forward to the main camp getting going.
