Have I think Boyd will be re-assigned here very shortly. Maybe Cormier gets an opportunity to play in a couple of exhibition games before getting sent back.

LinkWho would’ve thought our last player at a NHL camp would be Ben Boyd. Congrats to the big guy, he’s work hard and has improved immensely!

Brabanec reassigned to the Isles as well Really interested in seeing this kid play. I think he'll be a strong pt producer playing against kids his own age once again. I feel he has the potential to put up some very impressive numbers.

He still plays today, with HC Kometa Brno B in the Czech3 League at the age of 45 His grandfather was a professional basketball player, competing in 3 Olympic games, 2 World Championships, 8 Euro Championships, and is ranked among the all time greatest basketball players in Czech Republic\Czechoslovakia history. Can't wait to see him in action!

Peach is no longer on the roster. lhjmq.qc.ca/roster/7/199We knew he would probably be the odd man out. Any idea where he could be?

And it looks like Matt McQuaid won the battle for the final d-spot over Isaac Vos and Beran Simard-Sancy.
For Vos and Simard-Sancy, they lasted very late in camp..... which is great to see for two 17 y/o players who were not high draft picks. We will have a lot of turnover on the blueline next season. Hopefully both guys are going to be able to step in next year and play major junior hockey. Maybe Vos will get some looks as a callup during the season if we end up with some injuries. With Simard-Sancy, last season he played with The Mount Academy. If he does another season at The Mount, he will also be close by for a call up.

very interesting makeup of the final roster.... we knew not many roster spots were available coming in and that certainly played out
looking at the rookies who did crack the final roster.... not many high draft picks there....
McQuaid was a 9th rounder Archibald a 13th rounder Horth a 9th rounder Todd a 7th rounder Aguilar a 4th rounder and of course the lone 05 from last draft was a 2nd rounder in Oullet
it shows the importance of using your available picks wisely....... it's obviously great to have lots of picks when you are rebuilding but the staff here has shown they are not afraid of moving high picks for established players and still landing Q players later in the draft which is huge

Also don't forget Keiran Gallant.... another 13th rounder.
The organization long used the example of Zach Beauregard as a late round pick who developed well. He was a 10th round pick, but they started talking him up after his camp as a 16 y/o to keep an eye out for him at 17.
Even before that, PO Joseph was a guy they took in the 5th round and he ended up being an NHL first rounder.
And I'll give them credit for leveraging William Trudeau, a pick that Drummondville made in the 11th round. I think they had an idea what they were getting when they pushed for him in the Joseph trade. The scouting staff, headed by Trent Birt in the Maritimes and Al Cusson up in Quebe have done a great job with the late picks.

Gallant is entering his 3rd year altho ironically it might finally wind up being his first full year haha but yes the rest of your post is further to my point and i agree wholeheartedly

Right!
Did not read closely enough to realize that you were just talking about the rookies.

browsed thru the rosters on the Q website does not appear to be any teams with less than the 3 overagers allowed ... interestingly a handful of teams rosters still show 4 yet we only show the 3.... so did we just completely cut Peach? what a wasted asset unfortunately

Brabenec & Satny excited to be Islanders.
Jakub Brabenec and Oliver Satny are excited to have finally made their way into the black and harvest gold uniform.
“I’m feeling great, I think we will have a very good team and I’m really looking forward to the season. I’m so happy to finally be in Charlottetown” said Jakub Brabenec, when asked about his feelings on the Islanders, start to the season.
Oliver added “ We have a great team, I think we all want to be successful this season, and to get to the Memorial Cup. PEI is a very beautiful place. All the people are very nice, I feel really good here.”
Brabenec was the Islanders’ top pick in the 2020 QMJHL Import Draft but was unable to report to PEI last year in what should have been his rookie season. He was taken in the 4th round 102nd overall by the Vegas Golden Knights. After attending rookie camp with teammate Lukas Cormier, both are back on the Island to start the season.
“Jakub played pro last year in the Czech Republic so he’s used to the competition. He’s going to fit in nicely with our top 6 forwards, and he’ll be a big part of the powerplay” commented Head Coach Jim Hulton.
The native of Jihlava, Czech Republic measures in at 6’1”, 154 lbs, and last season played with HC Kometa Brno as well as making the Czech Republic U18 team for the World Junior Hockey Championships. He posted 2 goals and 6 assists during the tournament on the way to helping the Czech’s capture bronze at the tournament.
When asked about his style of play, Brabenec commented, “I think I’m a smart player who chooses a pass instead of a shot, otherwise, I can predict the game well.”
The 18-year-old will be wearing number 11 for the Islanders this season as he looks to be an influential piece for the team’s offense.
“Both Jakub and Oliver are fitting in well, they have great personalities and are all smiles,” commented Hulton.
Goaltender Oliver Satny was the 52nd pick in the 2021 Import Draft for the Islanders. The 6’1”, 174 lbs goaltender catches left and hails from Tabor, Czech Republic. Satny played between 2 clubs last year, BK Mladá Boleslav U20 and HC Slovan Usti nad Labem. Between the two, he appeared in 13 games posting a .918 SV% and a 2.72 GAA. He also made Czech Republic’s U18 WJC team where he appeared in 4 games with a .905 SV% and a 2.89 GAA.
“In the game, I always try to help my team as much as possible so the boys can concentrate on their game,” commented Satny.
“Oliver has a bit of a transition to make coming to play on a smaller ice surface but is adapting well. Jacob Goobie and Oliver will be a really good tandem, and are working well with each other,” said Hulton.
Oliver attended the Buffalo Sabres rookie camp this year but was reassigned to the Islanders before the main camp. Oliver will be dawning number 20 this year for the Islanders.
