I always thought Desnoyers was a OA this year? If only 19 that’s a deal o could get behind.

I think we would have invested more heavily in 20-21 if not for the uncertainty of the COVID impacted regular season. The deals to bring in Guay and Peach were upgrades with an eye to 21-22 (though the bet on Peach didn’t play out maybe as strong as planned). I think this year if we are in the mix we will see deals with futures attached and a major rebuild to follow. We are in it to win it this season! Goalies are questionable just because of the uncertainty of Satny but he could come in and dominate or Goobie could steal the spot and be a above average goalie put D core should be the best in the league especially the top 4 but I’m not convinced our forward group will be deep enough to be a contender.. was hoping they’d add a depth forward or 2 before the summer deadline. It will be a fun year in this division and hopefully we’re right there at Xmas and are able to add what we need. Can’t wait to see the final roster and get things going also hope the attendance is going to be more than just ticket holders. The obvious answer is Desnoyers at Christmas for Plandowski as a future (and another 1st, but those are semantics... ). Problem solved. I see Charlottetown as slightly behind Saint John and Bathurst on paper. But I also see them as Charlottetown... a team that constantly gets every last drop out of their players and constantly surprises. I wouldn't be surprised if the Isles are right up there with the Dogs and Titan at Christmas. The other two franchises though have shown that they will completely bottom out if it means going for a championship. While Charlottetown has bought before, they haven't really gone all in, and sold off their future. Good in that there's never a horrible season as a result. But it will be interesting to see if they keep up with the arms race at the trade deadline.

also wonder why our camp is like the last one..... other teams are pretty much set and announcing captains etc and we just opened main camp yesterday

According to his Instagram Barbanec is still in his home country and still with his home club as of today. He had a Instagram story up at a team function.

Sean Stewart traded to Drummondville for a 2024 10th round pick. Im hoping there is conditions to this transaction if he makes the team or plays so many games etc otherwise pretty underwhelming return

I believe this should be the updated roster carried over from Rookie Camp.
Sam Archibald Matis Ouellet Michael Horth Jarrett Todd
Mathis Aguilar Isaac Vos Beran Simard-Sancy Matt McQuaid Anton Topolnyckyj
Jacob Leblanc

Looking at how things are shaping up, I'm guessing that that pretty much settles things amongst the forwards:
We have 13 forwards
Archibald Boyd Brabenec Budgell Elliott Gallant Gauy Horth Leblanc Oliver Ouellet Simoneau/Peach Todd
On D, there are still some decisions to be made:
Aguilar Cormier Laaouan Maynard McQuaid Plandowski Simard-Sancy Topilnyckyj Trudeau Vos
That's 10 bodies, I'm guessing we carry either 7 or 8 D, so there are still some decisions on what will happen there.
Is there any confirmation about whether Satny is here or not? Of course, Leblanc will be around until Satny is here and ready to go.

Topilnyckyj left camp last week and is now listed on the Grand Falls Rapids Training Camp roster. I expect he left to preserve his NCAA eligibility.

Topilnyckyj has played in pre-season games and that would violate his NCAA eligibility.

Not a great return for Stewart, I agree.... but it was about what I expected for a guy who had 1 point in 22 games for us. I know the appeal when we acquired Stewart was for his defensive play and grit, but even for a guy with that sort of role he needs to supply a little more offence than 1 point every 22 games. We paid a 3rd, a 6th, and Anthony Hamel for Stewart. In retrospect, that's too high a price given what sort of production we got for him and what the return was on dealing him out. Stewart is one of those guys who at 19 can be valuable and important on a contending team... he was for us.... but doesn't really command any sort of price in a trade as a 20. I'm curious to see what the end result is with Bailey Peach. He should have a decent value in a trade, but very few teams are looking to acquire a 20 y/o at this point. I understand the logic of holding onto him (bird in the hand; insurance for the event Simoneau turns pro) but the cost of holding onto him is that we won't get value in a trade when we move him. Peach is definitely a guy who would be a good fit in most places as a 20 y/o. But we might be in tough to find the right deal for him. Sean Stewart traded to Drummondville for a 2024 10th round pick. I see him getting a 4th.
